Reiki, Relaxation, & Healing
What Is Reiki?
is a Japanese method of healing with energy!
An excellent description of reiki was shared with me by
a client who later became my student,
and he is now a Reiki Practitioner himself!
After receiving his very first Reiki Healing Session, he commented,
"Reiki is like an inner massage that's much, much better than massage!"
I really like that description!
Now some more information about reiki!
In English, reiki is defined as “spiritually-guided life force energy.”
Reiki was founded in Japan by Mikao Usui in the early 1900s.
A more detailed history can be found on another page of this website:
The History of Reiki
Reiki involves gentle hand placement either on or above various areas of your body.
You needn't be touched if you prefer not to be.
Little or no pressure is applied, and oils are not used.
Reiki Healing Sessions are described in detail on other pages of this website:
Private Reiki Healing Sessions
Monthly Reiki Healing Clinics
Reiki is used in homes, clinics, hospitals, and anywhere and everywhere
by adults and by children.
Reiki is not hypnosis or massage, nor is it a tool for diagnosing illness.
Reiki is not at all religious but it has adapted to various religions and cultures.
It is safe and gentle,
nurturing and soothing,
comforting and pain-relieving,
and good for whatever ails you!
Reiki is not at all invasive!
Often reiki is described as
a relaxation technique
that allows the body to attain its natural state of balance.
At its least Reiki can be
Once the body is balanced and relaxed,
there can be less tension.
When there's less tension in the body,
there can be less pain and less stress.
When there is less pain and less stress, there can be less anxiety.
And then healing can begin.
reiki can bring about healing
on four levels:
physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually!
A Reiki Healing Session is between you and Reiki.
A Reiki Practitioner simply acts as the conduit
(the pipe, the straw ...)
through which the reiki energy flows.
I've been taught that all healing is self-healing.
As I previously mentioned,
reiki helps you heal physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.
Furthermore, reiki always works for your highest good.
Reiki calms and soothes,
your entire being.
Reiki is cumulative in your system so ...
the more, the better!
Even Dr. (Mehmet) Oz likes reiki!
He has recommended Reiki to his National TV Audience!
Reiki is used in many hospitals, hospices, clinics, and wellness centers
across the country, including Boston’s Children’s Hospital,
Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Brigham & Women's Hospital;
also, the Mayo Clinic, Johns Hopkins Hospital, and more!

Were you aware that stress can harm our bodies?
We all know stress can wear us down emotionally, mentally, and spiritually.
However, unfortunately, this mental/emotional/spiritual wearing-down
can eventually transform into a physical ailment.
If we can get a handle on stress
then we can alleviate or reduce many, or at least some, of our ills.
Reiki is a method that can help alleviate and reduce stress, and,
thus, help keep us in good health!
